There are scholarships available
specifically to those who plan to major
in music, as well as scholarships which
are open to the general student body.
Other forms of
financial aid are
available to all Lee University
students. Music students with high
academic standing are encouraged to
pursue every available type of funding
for college, especially the honor
scholarships and those pertaining to
academic achievement.
Incoming freshmen and transfer students
may apply for a scholarship by
completing the Scholarship Request Form
and auditioning before the Music
Faculty. Based on this audition, the
Music Scholarship Committee composed of
the chairs, Area Coordinators, and the
Dean submit scholarship recommendations
to the
Office of Student Financial Aid
for consideration by the Lee University
Scholarship Committee.
To receive any music scholarship award,
a student must have: |
 |
- Applied and been accepted to Lee
University
- Auditioned and been accepted as a music
major
- Had a music scholarship application on
file with the School of Music or the Office
of Student Financial Aid.
Students awarded music scholarships will be
notified in writing by the Dean for the School
of Music and the Financial Aid Office. The
music scholarship letter must be signed and
returned to the office of the Dean for the
School of Music. Please feel free to view our
list of
scholarships available to Music majors in the
current university catalog. Many scholarships
for majors and non majors are available though
ensemble participation. See each ensemble
director for details.
**Returning students are eligible to be
continued in their music scholarships by
maintaining an overall GPA of at least 2.5 and a
GPA of at least 3.0 in music. Continued
scholarships are not guaranteed. |
