Each music major is required to enroll in
applied lessons based on the degree program
selection. Students register for applied
lessons online. Then the Area Coordinator
and Chairs place the student where possible with
their requested instructor at the primary and
secondary levels. MUA is the designated prefix
for all applied lessons. Detailed
instructions regarding how to sign up for
applied lessons can be found in the
undergraduate schedule of classes book.
Practice
Requirements
Each student is expected to practice a
minimum of five hours each week for each
hour of credit in applied music. The
student who wishes to excel as a
performer will need to spend a
considerable amount of time in the
practice room.
