Instructor of Piano, Theory, and other
music courses
At Lee University , Joyce Stanbery teaches Music
Theory at the most advanced level (Theory IV)
each semester, in addition to various other
levels of theory and sight-singing/ear training
courses. She teaches applied and class
piano. She teaches other music courses as
needed, for example, Keyboard Literature and
Form and Analysis.
Off campus she has directed the Sweet Adelines
women’s barbershop chorus for many years and has
been involved in church music all her life,
including directing adult, children’s and
handbell choirs and serving as church organist.
She is currently organist at Red Bank United
Methodist Church.
Joyce Stanbery lives in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
She has two sons and one grandson.
