Ruth James, a 1968 graduate of Lee, has been in
the education profession for 20 years and
currently serves as the music specialist at
Stuart Elementary School. She has also taught
music at Blythe Avenue Elementary School and
third grade at Allen School. She holds
memberships with the NEA, TEA, and CEA, and is a
member of Alpha Delta Kappa and the national
Music Teachers Association.
She is a Career Ladder III teacher and has
served as president of the Ocoee Music
Teachers. She ahs served on the steering
committee for the SACS review and on a visiting
team for SACS. She has been a workshop
presenter for Cleveland City Schools and in the
summer music workshops for the Tennessee
Department of Education.
She has been the director of the City Chorus for
more than 20 years and has directed numerous
sixth grade musicals such as The Wizard of Oz,
Charlotte’s Web, Annie, and Fiddler on the Roof. |
