Alan Wyatt is a member of the Lee
University School of Music faculty.
A graduate of the University of
Tennessee at Knoxville, Wyatt teaches
classes such as Applied Saxophone, Music
Theory, and Improvisation and is the
conductor of the Lee University Jazz
Ensemble.
He completed his graduate studies in jazz and
commercial music and joined the Lee team as a
full-time instructor in 1996. Prior to his
appointment at Lee, he was the co-leader of the
musical group "Page 1" with his wife Paula
Archer-Wyatt. This group performed
throughout the greater southeastern U.S.
Wyatt's areas of specialty are music
transcription and editing, jazz performance, and
music education. He is currently interested in
researching commercial music history from 1900
to the present. He is also the director of
the Pep Band, which supports athletic and
student events.
Wyatt was born in Jackson, Mississippi, but
spent his high school years here in Cleveland.
He is married to his musical partner, Paula
Archer-Wyatt, who also teaches at Lee. In
his spare time, he and his wife enjoys working
with stained glass.
